Youth Riding

The aim of the youth section is to encourage children and young adults to take up cycling as a lifelong habit, and to encourage participation in competition across all cycling disciplines. We want cycling to be fun, safe and an integral part of the wider club. Read about our safeguarding policy here.

Go- Ride Club

Ilkley Cycle Club is a British Cycling registered Go-Ride club with ClubMark Status. Go-Ride is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills. The Club has British Cycling level 2 & 3 coaches and adheres to all safeguarding polices.Club Activities

      Racing Training
      Pedal in the Park (for children to learn how to handle a bike)
      Regular promoters of Youth Races
     Club rides for competent children
      Occasional youth rides and of course our Santa ride

British Cycling

The Club promotes and accesses British Cycling coaching and holiday clubs, this covers skills, circuit racing, cyclocross and mountain biking. Our coaches work closely with British Cycling to join and engage in quality coaching.

Bike Loan Scheme

The Club has a small number of bikes to allow children to engage in Club activities and competitions. There is a small contribution due for the use. Parents need to commit to ensuring the bikes are kept secure and are used under supervision and appropriately.
